I've been thinking, and there's many things in life now that can overwhelm a person, but things change and we need to realize that. Here's how I see it: Life flows, despite what lots of people think about life, it isn't just random events, as I once thought, it'as a succession of events that effect the following events and so on, kind of like a chain reaction, it's all cause and effect. Life flows like water and must be dealt with accordingly, it isn't the event that determines the outcome, but our reaction to it. If one treats all things as water then the uncomfortable weight of the water will roll off and the satisfying coolness will remain. Not only must you treat life like water, as a constantly changing and shifting thing, you must be as water, and adapt to each new situation with a calm mind and a sure step. Water within water is at peace and in harmony with the world around it. That's how I try to live, taking everything in stride and adapting. But I'm still human, and by no means an expert, things WILL get to me, I will feel stress over certain events, that too is natural. It's how quickly and easily you can let go of something that jars you, that it what determines how far you have progressed towards being as water. Getting depressed over who said what and who did what is no way to live your life, nor is dwelling on the past or staring towards the future. If you look behind you while walking you'll trip over something. If you stare too far ahead of you, towards what you'll encounter later, you'll forget about the things you're about to reach and then trip over them. If you don't learn to adapt to the situations in the present, then when an obstacle arises and you don't step over around or under, you'll hit your toes and possibly your shins (depending on the obstacle). So that's my lesson for this now, be as water for water can take any shape, and better yet, it can return from that shape and go on being peaceful.
